No Picking Up or Walking on Motorways
This rule is a legal requirement
You MUST NOT pick up or set down anyone, or walk on a motorway, except in an emergency.
💡Example
You must not stop on a motorway to drop off or pick up passengers, and you must not walk along the motorway unless there is an emergency. For example, you must not pull onto the hard shoulder to let a friend out near a junction, but if your car breaks down and cannot reach an exit, you may carefully get out and move behind the barrier to call for help.
