If you’re involved in a collision that causes any damage or injury, you must stop and follow the legal steps for reporting and exchanging details. You must not drive off, even if the damage seems minor. For example, if you clip a parked car and scratch its paint or hit a dog that runs into the road, you must stop, check what’s happened, and give your details or report it to the police as required.
