Road works, level crossings and tramways•Rule 288
Following Signs at Road Works
When the ‘Road Works Ahead’ sign is displayed, you will need to be more watchful and look for additional signs providing more specific instructions. Observe all signs – they are there for your safety and the safety of road workers.
💡Example
When you see a 'Road Works Ahead' sign, you must pay extra attention and follow any further signs or instructions, as they protect you and the road workers. For example, you might see temporary speed limits, lane closures, or ‘Stop/Go’ boards, and you should slow down, change lanes or stop as directed while passing through the road works safely.
