Road works, level crossings and tramways•Rule 289
Extra Caution on Fast Roads
Take special care on motorways and other high-speed dual carriageways.
💡Example
On motorways and fast dual carriageways, you must be especially alert because vehicles are travelling at high speed and situations can change very quickly. For example, when you see road works ahead on a motorway, you should ease off the accelerator early, increase your following distance and be ready for sudden braking or lane changes from other drivers.
