When roads are icy, you must drive very slowly and smoothly, avoiding any sudden braking, steering or acceleration that could make you skid. For example, on a frosty winter morning, you gently press the brake well in advance of a junction and steer gradually around a bend, instead of braking hard or turning sharply at the last moment.
