Road signs, markings, and vehicle markings•Rule 224
Staying Safe Around Electric Vehicles
Electric vehicles. Be careful of electric vehicles such as milk floats and trams. Trams move quickly but silently and cannot steer to avoid you.
💡Example
This rule reminds you to be extra careful around electric vehicles like trams and milk floats, as they can be very quiet and trams cannot swerve to avoid you. For example, when crossing near tram tracks in a city centre, you should look carefully in both directions and not rely on hearing a tram approaching, because it may come up quickly and almost silently behind you.
