Bus Lane Usage Rules

Bus lanes. These are shown by road markings and signs that indicate which (if any) other vehicles are permitted to use the bus lane. Unless otherwise indicated, you should not drive in a bus lane during its period of operation. You may enter a bus lane to stop, to load or unload where this is not prohibited.

💡Example

Do not drive in bus lanes during their operational hours unless otherwise permitted by signs. For example, if you are driving in London and see a bus lane sign stating '7 am - 7 pm', you must avoid using the lane during those hours unless the sign also indicates it is open to your type of vehicle or allows stopping for loading.
