Rules about animals•Rule 57
Restraining Pets in Vehicles
When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves, if you stop quickly. A seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard are ways of restraining animals in cars.
💡Example
Ensure pets are secured in your vehicle to prevent distractions or injuries during sudden stops. For example, use a pet seat belt harness for your dog when driving to the park, so it remains safe and doesn't interfere with your control of the car.
