Rules for users of powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters•Rule 38
Pavement Use for Mobility Scooters
Pavements are safer than roads and should be used when available. You should give pedestrians priority and show consideration for other pavement users, particularly those with a hearing or visual impairment who may not be aware that you are there.
💡Example
Use pavements instead of roads with your mobility scooter and always give way to pedestrians, especially those who may not notice you. For example, when driving your mobility scooter on the pavement, slow down and let a person with a guide dog pass safely before continuing on your way.
