Waiting and parking•Rule 245
Understanding Controlled Parking Zones
Controlled Parking Zones. The zone entry signs indicate the times when the waiting restrictions within the zone are in force. Parking may be allowed in some places at other times. Otherwise parking will be within separately signed and marked bays.
💡Example
In a Controlled Parking Zone, the signs at the zone entrance tell you the times when parking or waiting is restricted on the streets inside that area. Outside those times, you may only park where separate bays and signs say it’s allowed. For example, if you drive into a CPZ with a sign saying ‘Mon–Sat 8am–6pm’, you must not wait on single yellow lines in that zone during those times, but you can park in marked bays if their individual signs allow it.
