Using the roadRule 191

Parking and overtaking at crossings

This rule is a legal requirement
You MUST NOT park on a crossing or in the area covered by the zig-zag lines. You MUST NOT overtake the moving vehicle nearest the crossing or the vehicle nearest the crossing which has stopped to give way to pedestrians.

💡Example

You must not park on pedestrian crossings or on the zig-zag lines, and you must not overtake the vehicle closest to the crossing, whether it is moving or has stopped for pedestrians. This is to keep the view clear and protect people crossing the road. For example, if a car has stopped at a zebra crossing to let someone cross, you must stay behind it and must not pull out to overtake or stop on the zig-zags next to the crossing.
