Using the road•Rule 188
Using Mini-Roundabouts Safely
This rule is a legal requirement
Mini-roundabouts. Approach these in the same way as normal roundabouts. All vehicles MUST pass round the central markings except large vehicles which are physically incapable of doing so. Remember, there is less space to manoeuvre and less time to signal. Avoid making U-turns at mini-roundabouts. Beware of others doing this.
💡Example
Treat mini-roundabouts like normal roundabouts: drive around the central markings, signal clearly, and avoid U-turns, as space and reaction time are limited. For example, when you approach a painted mini-roundabout on a residential road, you slow down, steer around the central circle instead of cutting straight across it, indicate left to exit, and watch out for any driver trying to turn all the way back on themselves.
