This rule reminds you to always look out for vulnerable road users and leave them plenty of space when you pass or drive near them. For example, when you’re driving past a cyclist on a narrow street, slow right down and move well over to the right, only overtaking when you can leave a wide gap and it’s clearly safe to do so.
