This rule tells you to get into the correct lane and position in good time before turning, and to signal clearly so others know what you intend to do. For example, when approaching a junction to turn right, you should check your mirrors, signal right, move into the right-hand lane or position near the centre line, and slow down smoothly before making the turn when it is safe.
