Using the road•Rule 177
Using Green Filter Arrows Safely
Green filter arrow. This indicates a filter lane only. Do not enter that lane unless you want to go in the direction of the arrow. You may proceed in the direction of the green arrow when it, or the full green light shows. Give other traffic, especially cyclists, time and room to move into the correct lane.
💡Example
A green filter arrow shows a lane for traffic going only in the direction of the arrow; only use that lane if you intend to go that way, and give others space to move across. You may go in the direction of the arrow when it is lit, or when the main green light shows, but still check carefully for cyclists and other vehicles changing lanes. For example, at a junction with a green left filter arrow, only move into the left lane if you are turning left, and allow cyclists time and room to get into the correct lane before you proceed.
