Rules for pedestrians•Rule 11
Crossing One-Way Streets Safely
One-way streets. Check which way the traffic is moving. Do not cross until it is safe to do so without stopping. Bus and cycle lanes may operate in the opposite direction to the rest of the traffic.
💡Example
Always check the direction of traffic on one-way streets before crossing, as some lanes like buses and cycles may go the opposite way. For example, when crossing a one-way street in London, look left and right because the cycle lane might have cyclists coming from the opposite direction.
