Primary route confirmatory sign: a green sign listing the road number, places ahead and their distances in miles

Primary route confirmatory

A route confirmatory sign stands just after a junction to confirm the road you are on and list the places ahead with their distances. On primary routes it has a green background. It is a direction sign, not an order: use it to check you took the right exit.

Official Highway Code caption: “Route confirmatory sign after junction.”

Listed under “Signs on primary routes – green backgrounds” in The Highway Code: traffic signs (GOV.UK). For every sign in more detail, see the Department for Transport’s Know your traffic signs.
