Emergency ProceduresDifficulty: 1/5
You have an off-road quad bike that is not registered, taxed or insured, and does not meet road-legal standards. You want to take it from your house to a nearby field. What are you allowed to do?
Explanation
Highway Code Rule 158 states that off-road motorcycles, motor tricycles and quadricycles (including quad bikes) that do not meet legal standards MUST NOT be used on roads, pavements, footpaths, cycle paths or bridleways. Even when such vehicles are registered, taxed and insured, they MUST NOT be used on pavements. Therefore an off-road-only quad bike cannot be ridden on any public road or path.
