Weather ConditionsDifficulty: 2/5
You are driving on a motorway in heavy rain and traffic is slow and congested. You are in the middle lane and your lane begins to move slightly faster than the right-hand lane. What should you do?
Explanation
In wet and congested conditions, you must not overtake on the left or change to a left-hand lane just to overtake (Highway Code Rule 268). However, if traffic in your lane is naturally moving faster than traffic to your right, you may keep your position and speed, even if this means passing vehicles on your right. You must not weave in and out of lanes to gain advantage, especially in poor weather when stopping distances are increased.
