Pedestrians Prohibited on Motorways
This rule is a legal requirement
Motorways. Pedestrians MUST NOT be on motorways or slip roads except in an emergency (see Rule 271 and Rule 275).
💡Example
Pedestrians are not allowed on motorways or slip roads unless there's an emergency. For instance, if your car breaks down on the motorway, you can walk to the emergency phone, but otherwise, you must not walk on the motorway.
