Helmet Rules for Young Riders
This rule is a legal requirement
Safety equipment. Children under the age of 14 MUST wear a helmet which complies with the Regulations. It MUST be fastened securely. Other riders should also follow these requirements. These requirements do not apply to a child who is a follower of the Sikh religion while wearing a turban.
💡Example
Children under 14 must wear a securely fastened helmet when riding to ensure safety, unless they are Sikh and wearing a turban. For example, if an 11-year-old is cycling to the park, they must have their helmet properly secured on their head, whereas a Sikh child wearing a turban is exempt from this requirement.
