Rules for pedestriansRule 20

Zebra Crossing Island Protocol

Where there is an island in the middle of a zebra crossing, wait on the island and follow Rule 19 before you cross the second half of the road – it is a separate crossing.

💡Example

If a zebra crossing has an island, treat each side of the crossing as separate. For example, when crossing a road with an island, wait on the island until the traffic on the second half of the road has stopped, just as you did for the first half.
