Rules for pedestriansRule 17

Nighttime Pedestrian Visibility

At night. Wear something reflective to make it easier for others to see you (see Rule 3). If there is no pedestrian crossing nearby, cross the road near a street light so that traffic can see you more easily.

💡Example

When walking at night, wear reflective clothing and cross near street lights to be seen by drivers. For example, if you're taking an evening stroll and need to cross a road without a nearby crossing, wearing a reflective jacket and choosing a spot under a street light will help ensure drivers notice you.
