General rules, techniques and advice for all drivers and ridersRule 147

Be Considerate to All Road Users

Be considerate. Be careful of and considerate towards all types of road users, especially those requiring extra care (see Rule 204).

💡Example

This rule means you must think about other people on the road and avoid actions that could worry, inconvenience or endanger them, especially those who need extra care. For example, if you see an elderly pedestrian crossing slowly at a junction, you should wait patiently instead of revving your engine or trying to squeeze past them.
