Sharp deviation of route

The sharp deviation of route sign warns that the road turns sharply in the direction the white chevrons point: to the left here, or to the right when the chevrons are reversed. Slow down before you reach the bend, do your braking on the straight and follow the chevrons round.

Official Highway Code caption: “Sharp deviation of route to left (or right if chevrons reversed).”

Listed under “Mostly triangular” in The Highway Code: traffic signs (GOV.UK). For every sign in more detail, see the Department for Transport’s Know your traffic signs.
