Turn left ahead
The turn left ahead sign, a blue circle with a white arrow bending to the left, means you must turn left ahead, or right if the arrow is reversed. Signs with blue circles give a positive instruction, so check your mirrors, signal and get into position for the turn.
Official Highway Code caption: “Turn left ahead (right if symbol reversed).”
Listed under “Signs with blue circles but no red border mostly give positive instruction.” in The Highway Code: traffic signs (GOV.UK). For every sign in more detail, see the Department for Transport’s Know your traffic signs.
