Ensure Vehicle and Trailer Compliance
This rule is a legal requirement
Vehicle condition. You MUST ensure your vehicle and trailer comply with the full requirements of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations and Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations (see ‘The road user and the law‘).

You must make sure that your vehicle and any trailer meet all legal construction and lighting standards. For example, before setting off on a journey, check that your car's lights, brakes, and tyres are in good condition and that your trailer's lights and reflectors are functioning properly to avoid legal issues and ensure safety on the road.
