Road signs, markings, and vehicle markings•Rule 205
Adjust Speed for Children’s Safety
There is a risk of pedestrians, especially children, stepping unexpectedly into the road. You should drive with the safety of children in mind at a speed suitable for the conditions.
💡Example
This rule means you must always be ready for pedestrians, especially children, who might suddenly step into the road, and you should slow down to a speed that suits the conditions. For example, when driving past a park at school kicking-out time, you should reduce your speed, cover the brake, and be prepared to stop if a child runs out between parked cars.
